April's Shower of Photos - April 30

It's the last day!  So, I'll share something goofy.  The girls and I LOVE to play around on the Mac's photo booth feature.  First picture is of myself and the big girls.  The second is to ask opinions!  I'm thinking about cutting my hair...it hasn't been cut in almost a year!  It's naturally curly, but I have recently re-discovered the beauty of the Chi!  My Chi changed  my life...I seriously wore a bun for probably 10 years (or more).  In fact, my high school choir director used to call me "Bun Head" (in a loving way) and would make sure to tell me to wear my hair down for concerts!  If only I had the beloved Chi - or at least the willingness to accept my curly hair as it is...  Anyway.  I can't decide to cut or not to cut.

April's Shower of Photos - April 24

I have fallen down on my posting of pictures for the month!  Well, I'm going to try to pick it back up here!

Today is milk delivery day!  Our milk is delivered once a week from a local dairy farm who treats their animals humanely, feeds them naturally, and does not add hormones.  I have been convicted on the hormone-free milk (and beef) for about a year and a half to 2 years now and had been buying organic.  When I found out about this dairy farm and what they do, I was so excited!  You buy by the half gallon and it is typically about 80 cents to a dollar less than grocery store organic, even with delivery.  Not to mention, it all comes in glass bottles that you return and they recycle.
Plus, it tastes sooo good!

I limit our milk purchases to one gallon a week.  I don't believe in letting the children drink milk all day long.  They can have one cup a day, usually at dinner.  Other than that, they only drink water unless it's some sort of special occasion.  I don't buy juice except maybe once a month, with the exception of OJ or Grapefruit occasionally for mixed drinks w/ vodka with Charlie!  :-)  Anyway, even with 4 people consuming milk, one gallon is sufficient for the week.  It is so fun when it shows up though!

April's Shower of Photos - April 18

I could have also titled this post, "She's On the Move!"

She is, indeed, on the move. Seriously, what happened here? It seems like I just delivered this little bundle of chunk and cuteness - and now...here she is crawling around, chasing her sisters, and apparently torturing them!

Right before I took this picture, I was alone in the kitchen. I knew all the girls were in the playroom and was not concerned. I heard Gab start yelling, "Help help! I'm stuck!" She has a tendency to get trapped in the hall closet (which does not have a doorknob on the inside) and various other places. I was a little slow to go searching for her, but when I arrived in the playroom, all I could see was Felicity and Colette. No Gab. She yelled again, and I realized she was trapped inside the dress up box because Colette was standing there holding it shut! Carefully, I moved the baby away, and Gabrielle exploded into the pile of pink and sparkly white tulle in her 1960's sunglasses, giggling.

I grabbed the camera, and true to form, more excitement ensued as I'm sure you can guess based on the baby's position in the picture...hahah

Never a dull moment. :-)

April's Shower of Photos - April 16

Here are some photos of the beautiful Rocky Mountains in the springtime from when I was on retreat over the weekend.

In stark contrast to my last photo, I would like to share what is currently going on in my backyard!

April's Shower of Photos - April 10

This morning when I woke up, I found my backyard looking like a winter wonder land. I sort of feel like singing some Christmas carols!

On a side note, I will not have April's Shower of Photos posted up tomorrow, Saturday, and possibly Sunday. I am going on retreat this weekend! It's a silent women's retreat by Opus Dei. I'm a little nervous as I have not been on retreat since high school! Anyway, it's being held at a beautiful retreat center up in the mountains called St. Malo's. John Paul II stayed there when he visited Denver for World Youth Day in the 90's. There is a trail he hiked into the Rocky Mountains, and I am hoping that I'll have the opportunity to walk in the footsteps of a Saint! I've heard that the place is gorgeous, so I'll be posting lots of pictures upon my return, I'm sure! Please pray for me, and most especially for Charlie who will be here with the big girls for the weekend (my little nursling is my side kick and gets to come along!).

April's Shower of Photos - April 9

Ok, so this is going to post for Thursday. But, it's still like Wednesday night, so I'm hoping I can slip my picture in just under the radar here!
My camera problems persist (OF COURSE it would happen during April's Shower of Photos!"), so I am sharing a picture from the past. This is a little bit of a "twist" on my theme for the month of Springtime.
Springtime right now consists of a forecast of 3-5" of snow before I wake up in the morning. I think as of right now it's falling fast and furious and is already at 1". Maybe I'll get a shot of that when I get up tomorrow!

Anyway, this is the "Springtime" of my love story! I'm going to share the picture of Charlie and me two days after we met. I was 15, he was 17 and we were on a NET retreat... It was a matter of months before we knew we would spend the rest of our lives together.
Here we are in our Springtime!

April's Shower of Photos - April 7

It's snowing today! Where are you, Springtime? In order to keep the girls entertained, I made them a blanket fort and moved out the living room table. The picture was taken on my cell phone.

April's Shower of Photos - April 6

Just in the nick of time! It's almost tomorrow! haha

Since I am still having camera/computer issues, I'm going to share a picture that is actually not mine. It was taken by a student at the Easter Vigil Mass at our parish and I swiped it off Facebook (don't worry, we're "friends" on Facebook! lol).

This picture is what I think real dreams are made of. This is our very holy and wonderful priest giving a blessing to his parents on their 40th anniversary on Easter Vigil. How I would love to be in their position some day, God willing....
